21/11/2008 Full compensation for auxiliary staff of EP plenary sessions
 At the request of Joseph Daul MEP, Chairman of the EPP-ED Group (centre-right) of the European Parliament, and other parliamentary group Chairmen, the Conference of Presidents has decided to proceed with the full compensation of nearly 200 auxiliary staff recruited in Strasbourg for the plenary sessions by giving them the salary that they were deprived of by the two September plenary sessions being held in Brussels instead of Strasbourg.
Joseph Daul, along with many of his counterparts, requested this measure back in September. He expressed his satisfaction that the European Parliament, through the unanimity of the Chairmen of the political groups, had reached such a worthwhile decision.
